Zigzag, a metal mesh plant in the Urals
A mobile app and bots on top of 1C at a metal mesh plant
The shop floor, warehouse and shipping work from phones, documents reach 1C by themselves
357
units in the warehouse visible in real time
8
people open the app in the same minute, each tap goes to 1C
Zigzag makes metal mesh and sieves. For a year I was its executive director and rebuilt the accounting: item master, spreadsheets, 1C and the link to the CRM. The app came later.
The 1C configuration at the plant was modified, and that decided everything else. Changing it was not an option, because the next update would wipe the changes along with the exchange. The exchange runs on the standard OData interface, and what did not fit there lives in a configuration extension that survives updates.
At the start of a shift eight people open the app at once. 1C would not take that load directly, so a layer in between caches reference data, runs heavy reports in the background and queues writes. 1C sees an even stream instead of a morning peak.
Revenue and margin are calculated on 1C data and open on a phone. They were always in 1C, but it took a dozen clicks to get them, so nobody looked.
What this has to do with e-invoicing
The same work sits behind UAE e-invoicing: reading documents out of an accounting system that must not be modified, and keeping the two in sync
